         The Amber Hours

This series of oil paintings was born in the quiet of my apartment during nights spent entirely in the dark. Turning off all artificial lights, I illuminated my living room using only the living, flickering glow of candles. Working with a headlamp to see my canvas, I wanted to physically experience the reality of the old masters—like Rembrandt painting with candles fixed to his hat. To truly master chiaroscuro, I had to immerse myself in the dark to see the light. Through these works, I explore how a single, intimate light source can transform a familiar domestic space, capturing the deep shadows, warm illumination, and stillness of a home at night.
