The Story Behind the Series
Much of my work views nature as a profound metaphor for life. This trajectory began in 1998 during my time at Miami ArtWorks Inc. On my daily commute from North Miami to Coral Gables, I was captivated by the giant Banyan branches arching over Coral Way, seeing human forms and emotions tangled within them. In an era before smartphones, I brought rolls of developed film into my studio, physically cutting and pasting the photographs to construct forms that mirrored my internal landscape. What began as tactile experimentation grew into an enduring series of large-scale works. They represent my growth and newly found strength—capturing how a life, much like a tree, imperceptibly gathers its own rings of time.
